How To Write A Business Plan That Actually Works

Most business plans fail because they are written for nobody. Before you type a word, decide who reads it: a lender, a partner, or you.

Start with the problem you solve and who pays for it. If you cannot write that in two sentences, the rest of the plan will wobble.

Next comes the money. A simple twelve month revenue and expense forecast beats a beautiful fifty page document with no numbers in it.

Finish with the first ninety days. List the five things you will actually do, who does them, and what proof tells you it worked.

Use our free business plan template to fill in each section without starting from a blank page.
